I have a new passion for in home sessions. They truly bring out the best in people. It’s easy and effortless. To be in your home where so many memories have been made, makes it that much easier to capture who you are, and I simply love that.
You know, sometimes I seriously desperately hate instagram, but it brought me to these two, and for that I am thankful.
Meet Alison and Kory. Some of my very favorite humans that grace this earth. They are not only the most beautiful to capture, but their souls are rare. They have quickly become friends I will have for life.
These two are adventurers at heart, but for their engagements we took it to an intimate place, their first apartment together, and the place they call home. They share a love for the outdoors, rock climbing and creativity. Kory is a fellow photographer, and Alison is a gal of many talents, but a designer is her title. Just stepping into their apartment you just know how freaking cool these people are. Plants taking home all around the windows, homemade light fixtures that Al dreamed up and created from thrift store finds, and their VERY floppy pup.
We spent the day chatting about wedding plans, watching their pup go into a sheer tornado mode and chasing the light. It was a chilly winter day so we stayed warm in their cozy apartment in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
We played on their couch when the pup wasn’t attacking them. They snuggled up and smooched and just got the chance to slow down and love on one another. This was about soaking it all in. Their life as they know it and their love. It was truly an epic yet intimate day.
Needless to say, this shoot was a dream for me, and I can’t even begin to express my love for these photos.
Their love for one another is easy, wild, pure and simply epic.
I love you both dearly.
All my love, EQ.
